Hiking holidays in South Tyrol
Hirzer hiking area in the Val Passiria
The sunny Hirzer hiking area is especially popular with hikers. With the Hirzer panorama cable car, you can reach an altitude of 1,980m above sea level in no time at all. From there, you can pleasantly hike from Alm to Alm or undertake challenging high Alpine tours.
Worthwhile hikes in the Hirzer hiking area
Alpenrosen-hike:
Saltaus valley station - Hirzerhütte - Resegger Alm and Tallner Alm (2,000m) up the mountain via the Alpenrosen-Häge to the Rotmoos Alm - Mahdalm (1,990m) - Hinteregger Alm - Klammeben mountain station.
This route is especially recommended when the alpine roses blossom at the end of June/beginning of July.
Hirzer Hütte - Pfandler Alm
Go up to the Klammeben mountain station (1,980m) with the Hirzer Seilbahn (cable car) - from there to the Hirzerhütte (1,983m) - past the Hinteregg Alm and Mahdalm (1,990m) - follow the markings for E5 (be aware that good footing and a head for heights is essential) - pass under the Riffelspitze up to the Pfandler Alm (1,350m) - from there, continue to the chapel - here the route branches to S. Martino or S. Leonardo respectively.
