Getting to the Val Passiria by car

The Hotel Martinerhof is simple and quick to reach by car.  San Martino lies just about 15km away from Merano.  This is how you get to your holiday destination in the Val Passiria:

Let the route planner work out your journey.  Simply type in your home town in the field provided.

Coming from Germany:

  • Drive on the A8 motorway coming from Munich or on the A95 towards Innsbruck and Brenner.  In Austria follow the A12 and A13.  After the Italian boarder, remain on the A22 until Bolzano.  Here, take the “Bozen süd” exit and follow the dual carriageway (MEBO) up to the “Meran Süd” exit and continue to follow the signs towards Jaufenpass/Timmelspass/Val Passiria (Val Passiria) until you reach San Martino.
  • Travel on the A7 motorway until Kempten and in Austria, continue via Reutte, Imst, Landeck to the Reschenpass.  After the boarder, continue to head for Merano.  From there, follow the signs towards Jaufenpass/Timmelspass/Val Passiria (Val Passiria) until you reach San Martino.  If you drive from Imst to Landeck on the A-road, you don’t need an Austrian motorway vignette.
  • For these two possibilities there is an alternative pass over which you can travel.  However the Jaufenpass and Ötztal-Timmelsjochpass are very high and are not passable for the most part when the weather is bad or during the winter

Coming from Switzerland:

  • Coming from Davos or St. Moritz, travel via the Ofenpass to Schluderns and from there, in the direction of Merano.  Follow the signs towards the Jaufenpass/Timmelspass/Val Passiria (Val Passiria) until you reach St. Martin/San Martino.

Getting to South Tyrol by train

You can comfortably reach South Tyrol by train and without having to pay toll charges.  Merano is the nearest train station to the Hotel Martinerhof.  From there, scheduled busses or a taxi will bring you to St. Martin/San Martino.

For planning your own journey, simply insert your local train station and the destination station as Merano in the connection search.  Take the public bus or a taxi right from Meran train station into the Val Passiria.  The Hotel Martinerhof will gladly organise the transfer for groups from Merano train station to S. Martino.
